How we treat it
We offer phacoemulsification (phaco) and micro-incision phaco. The cloudy lens is removed through a small cut and replaced with a clear artificial lens. Most patients need only numbing eye drops, not an injection.
Surgery takes place in our own operating room. The technique, the anaesthesia and the lens are chosen for your eye.

We test your vision, eye pressure and the health of the whole eye. Bring your glasses, old reports and a list of medicines.
Planning
If surgery will help, we talk about the lens, your daily needs and the cost. The surgery date is planned separately.
Surgery and follow-up
You get written instructions for drops and medicines, and a date for your first check after surgery.
Common questions
Does every cataract need surgery straight away?
No. It depends on your vision and daily needs. An early cataract can sometimes be managed with new glasses.
Is the operation injection-free and stitchless?
Most patients here need only numbing drops, and the small cut usually seals itself. Your surgeon confirms this for your eye; some eyes need an injection or a stitch.
What does a cataract operation cost?
It depends on the lens and your eye. Ask for the package price and what it includes: tests, medicines and follow-up.
Which lens is best for me?
There is no single best lens. Tell us how you use your eyes, for reading, work or night driving, and we explain the options.
I have diabetes. Can I still be checked?
Yes. Tell us, and bring any retina reports. We check the retina as well as the cataract.
