Common signs
- Blurred distance or near vision
- Eye strain when reading or using screens
- A glasses number that keeps changing
- Small print gets harder to read with age
How we treat it
We measure your glasses number and examine the eye. Glasses or contact lenses correct short sight, long sight, astigmatism and age-related reading difficulty.
If you want to depend less on glasses, we discuss whether you are suitable and which options or referral fit your eyes.
What to expect
Vision test
Bring your current glasses and contact-lens details. Tell us when the blur happens: distance, reading or screens.
Eye health check
We look at the front and back of the eye, so another problem is not missed.
Your prescription
You get your new number and advice on when to have your eyes checked again.
Common questions
Does a changing number mean I need laser surgery?
No. A number can change for different reasons. The eye check finds the cause and whether surgery is suitable.
Can I get rid of my glasses?
Some people can depend less on them. We tell you which options suit your eyes; you may still need reading glasses.
Can I book LASIK directly?
Book an eye test first. We explain which procedure, if any, suits you and where it would be done.
Is a test for glasses the same as a full eye check?
Not quite. We do both at the same visit: the glasses number and a look at eye health.
