When to get checked
- Glaucoma in the family
- High eye pressure found before
- Loss of side vision
- You already use glaucoma drops
How we treat it
Eye pressure is only one part of the check. Dr. Meera also examines the optic nerve and, when needed, tests your field of vision. A normal pressure reading does not rule out glaucoma.
Treatment aims to protect the sight you have. Dr. Meera explains your drops and how often you need checks.
Meet Dr. Meera Shah and read about her qualifications.
What to expect
Before the visit
Bring old test results and all your eye drops, even from another clinic.
Tests
Eye pressure, the optic nerve and, if needed, a visual field test.
Ongoing care
Use your drops as prescribed and keep every review. Changes over time guide the treatment.
Common questions
Can I have glaucoma without noticing?
Yes. Many types develop slowly, with no early symptoms.
Does a normal eye pressure rule out glaucoma?
No. Some people have glaucoma without raised pressure, so the optic nerve is checked too.
Can I stop my drops if my eyes feel fine?
No. Feeling fine does not mean the glaucoma is controlled. Keep using them unless your doctor changes the plan.
What if my drops sting or are hard to use?
Tell Dr. Meera, so the plan can be changed. Do not just stop them.
Is kala motiyo the same as motiyo?
No. Kala motiyo (glaucoma) damages the optic nerve. Motiyo (cataract) clouds the lens.
