Entropion (inward-turning eyelid) in Vadodara

In entropion, the eyelid turns inward and the lashes rub the eye. This causes irritation, watering and sometimes a scratch on the eye. Dr. Samir Serasiya examines the lid and the eye surface and plans the right correction.

Common signs

  • Lashes rubbing the eye
  • The edge of the lid turns inward
  • Irritation or watering

How we treat it

Drops or other temporary care protect the eye in the meantime, but they do not fix the lid. Surgery places the lid back against the eye. A lid loosened by age and a lid pulled in by scarring need different methods.

Common questions

Is plucking the lashes a permanent fix?

No. It does not correct a lid that turns inward.

Can rubbing lashes be treated from a photo?

No. The eye surface needs to be examined to choose the right treatment.

Can entropion come back after surgery?

It can. Dr. Samir explains this risk for your lid.

When is it urgent?

Severe pain, a change in vision or a very red eye needs urgent care.

Can I use someone else’s drops in the meantime?

No. Ask Dr. Samir which drops protect your eye until the lid is corrected.

Should I stop my blood thinners before surgery?

Not on your own. Dr. Samir tells you what to do with each medicine.
